Adding the Engagement Trustmark to a Wordpress Site

The engagement trustmark allows you to reassure security-conscious visitors in key engagement areas like credit card or signup forms. You can easily add the engagement trustmark to your Wordpress site by following the steps below.

If you installed the McAfee SECURE certification plugin prior to November 2015:

  1. Log into your Wordpress admin panel
  2. You will first need to delete and reinstall the plugin to take advantage of the engagement trustmark.
  3. Navigate to the plugin page from your Wordpress dashboard.
  4. Look for the McAfee SECURE certification plugin and hit the deactivate button.


  5. You should now see the option to delete the plugin. Hit the delete button (don’t worry this won’t affect your account/subscription).


  6. Confirm that you want to delete the plugin.


  7. When prompted, enter your server credentials and hit Proceed.


  8. Once the plugin is uninstalled, go back to your dashboard and click on Plugins and then Add New .
  9. Search for the McAfee SECURE certification plugin and click Install Now.


  10. Enter your credentials when prompted.


  11. Once the installation is complete, click the activate button. You can now add the engagement trustmark to your site.


  12. To add the engagement trustmark, simply navigate to the page or post where you would like to display the trustmark.
  13. Insert the following shortcodes to add the engagement trustmark. Make sure you’re in text editor not visual editor:
    • For the standard size trustmark: [mcafeesecure]
    • For a larger or smaller trustmark, use the following code and change the width to any number between 60 -120: [mcafeesecure width=“80"]
  14. The engagement trustmark should now appear in the areas where you you pasted the shortcodes.

If you installed the McAfee SECURE certification plugin after October 2015:

  1. To add the engagement trustmark, simply navigate to the page or post where you would like to display the trustmark.
  2. Insert the following shortcodes to add the engagement trustmark. Make sure you’re in text editor not visual editor:
    • For the standard size trustmark: [mcafeesecure]
    • For a larger or smaller trustmark, use the following code and change the width to any number between 60 -120: [mcafeesecure width=“80"]
  3. The engagement trustmark should now appear in the areas where you you pasted the shortcodes.
